Cheese and Cheesy is a series of recordings captured in the kitchen of a small café. It is exploring the sound produced by the environment, to transform the experience into sonic stories.
The idea started as a friend commented on the dynamic between us, the two cooks, in the kitchen, and that he would watch us all day as his favorite sitcome. I decided to tell the story, only not as a visual one. I turned the microphone on, and left it in the corner of the front counter. It was visible to the customers and friends, but I wouldn’t announce that it was recording unless I was asked about it. It helped maintain the natural flow of the events.
The show was aired on Radio Alhara. The episodes are also available on Bandcamp: https://sevdak.bandcamp.com/album/cheese-and-cheesy
